It’s no secret that the JW Marriott Marquis is one of my favourite Dubai hotels. I have a soft spot for them because they engage with their customers and their food is just so darn good!
My goal is to eat at ALL of their restaurants, but so far I can’t seem to make it past their Italian (Positano). Ok, that’s a lie. I’ve eaten at Prime 68 twice, Kitchen 6 once, The Vault once, twice in the ballroom and now at La Farine. But I digress.
La Farine is on the ground floor of the tallest hotel in the world. To the side of the restaurant is a boulangerie and patisserie with busy bakers milling about. They also sell designer cakes.
The inside of the restaurant is decorated in black, white and lime green. It’s stylish with high ceilings and 247 mirrors. You’ll find suited and booted business people as well as friends having a casual weekend meal.
I just can’t say no to a great offer and JW Marriott Marquis does this really well. Like the Saturday Family Lunch at Positano, La Farine also offers a sharing concept with their Baker’s Breakfast which they offer every Friday and Saturday from 8am to 1pm. At just AED 210 for two, you get a basket of breads and pastries, a platter of cold cuts, and unlimited tea or coffee (and you know what I think about unlimited coffee!). PLUS the choice of one fresh juice and one main each and a side to share. It’s more food than most two people can eat and probably more than you would order (or spend) if you were to order à la carte, but in the name of good value, who could resist?!
This is the full spread. Now THIS is a breakfast!
Carrot juice and a cappuccino to start the day.
Not just one but TWO bread baskets, filled with a variety of freshly baked bread, croissants, pain au chocolat, a danish and a muffin.
The sauteed mushrooms were divine. Three types of mushrooms cooked simply and perfectly with just a touch of salt and herbs.
I’m still on my eggs benny kick so of course I ordered it again at La Farine. The smoked salmon was less salty than the one at Clinton Street Baking Company. The Hollandaise sauce is similar to the one at Eggspectation. This one’s served on a slice of brioche instead of an English muffin (like at Eggspectation) or a buttermilk biscuit (at Clinton Street). My vote still goes to the buttermilk biscuit eggs benny, but I prefer this one to Eggspectation.
This is the runny yolk of my sunny side up atop my croque monsieur. You know how much I love #yolkporn!
Verdict: Another great place to eat at JW Marriott Marquis. This is a perfect for a subdued yet stylish leisurely weekend breakfast, but they have some great dining promotions going on for meals at all times of the day. And they’re open around the clock – 24 hours, 7 days a week.
Note to self: Grab some baguettes as they say they’re the best in Dubai. And don’t be afraid to ask for a doggie bag!

Chow for now!
