When you feel like grazing on unlimited tapas accompanied by bottomless sangria, El Sur’s got you covered every Friday and Saturday brunchtime. There are no unsightly chafing dishes here. Whether you’re into paella, gazpacho, gambas, tortilla, patatas bravas, or Serrano ham… all you have to do is sit back, relax and wait for the goods to arrive.
There are over 20 dishes (including two desserts) and you get red and green churrascaria-style cards so you can indicate if you want the food to keep flowing or if you prefer to take a break. We found that one portion of each dish was more than sufficient and by the end of the 20 plates we were happy and more than comfortably full.
There’s a cozy terrace with several tables, which is the preferred place to be while the weather’s pleasant, despite its lack of a view.
This brunch is a far more subdued affair than Bubbalicious downstairs and the price point is on the higher side at AED 395 including alcohol or AED 265 without, so you’ll want to make sure you’re hungry and thirsty enough to make the most of it.
Though it’s not valid for brunch, you can get a 20% discount off your food and soft drinks bill if you dine at El Sur another time before 5 May 2019. Visit the Marriott MoreCravings.com website to download your voucher.
Verdict: Grab your amigos and head to El Sur for your Spanish food fix
Note to self: Don’t be shy! Take a swig from the porrón. It’s perfect for the Boomerang.
